In v2 of the WELL Building Standard, projects are now required to implement learning programs that promote health and wellness education for occupants within a building space.
We built the WELL Learning Library exactly for this reason...to promote a deeper understanding of factors that impact human health and well being. The WLL can also be implemented for WELL v1 projects.
Community Concept: Precondition C01
The SUMMARY of Precondition C01 of WELL v2 states:
"This WELL feature requires projects to provide a guide to occupants that highlights the relationship between health and buildings, a description of the WELL features pursued by the project, educational materials on a variety of health topics and annual communications about available health resources and programs."
In Rose Winer's article titled The Educational Content Provider's Guide to WELL, she lays out basic guidelines around educational criteria, content quality, and specifics for each of the 10 WELL v2 Concepts.
The WELL Learning Library was built with these guidelines in mind and ensures the fulfillment of these criteria.
The WELL Learning Library is an on-demand platform that allows users to access eLearning course content and other educational resources at anytime from anywhere with a computer or mobile device.
Subscribers of the library get full access to all courses, monthly newsletters, blogs, a fully serviced occupant survey, and additional educational resources.
eLearning courses include: an introductory course to WELL v2, 10 courses covering the Concepts of WELL v2 (one for each Concept), a course that explains the "why" behind WELL, and additional courses added regularly on a variety of health and wellness topics.
WELL Projects can easily fulfill preconditions and optimizations simply by deploying the WELL Learning Library. Your account manager will handle everything from the implementation of the library to the ongoing management of learner accounts to regular communication about new courses and resources that are added ongoingly.
